Swanage Croquet Club was founded in 2005 and plays on two lawns at the Bon Accord Road playing field.

Play temporarily suspended

Please note that it was decided at the AGM to rest the lawns for the next couple of months so they are in better shape for the start of the 2025 season.

 

Games Mornings

Our winter games morning meets each Wednesday at 10:00 at Chococo and provides an ideal opportunity for members to meet up during the winter months and share a laugh or two over a board game and a coffee. All members and prospective members are welcome.

 

Advantage Golf Croquet (GC)

Advantage GC has recently been adopted by South West Federation and so will be used in league matches and our own club competitions in 2025.

AGM

10 January 2025 The Swanage Croquet Club AGM was held at the Conservative Club on 8th January and was well attended by members. Chairman Greg Vaughn thanked the Management Committee and club volunteers for their hard work and highlighted that the club’s success in 2024 had received a lot of welcomed coverage in the local press as well as in numerous croquet magazines. During proceedings Tony Green presented trophies to the winners of the various club competitions held during the year and Greg presented a special award to Simon Parvin for being runner up in the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ competition run by the South West Federation of Croquet Clubs. The winners were Dave Morton and Jackie Temple (Chairman’s Challenge Doubles), Greg Vaughn (William Ormerod Challenge), Helen Diconimos (Roy Smith Competition), Nancy King and Greg Vaughn (Bob Oliver Pairs Competition), Dave Morton (nearest the stump).

 

Greg agreed to continue as Chairman for a further year and in doing so highlighted a number of ambitions for the club for 2025 and beyond. News of these and of other discussions and decisions made at the AGM have been circulated to members via email.
